As the clocks went back and the evenings grew long, Cities and Memory issued long-standing collaborator Karhide with a challenge – to work with the sounds of night and darkness to create a brand new release built from field recordings.
The result is At Night, a vibrant collection of reimagined pieces constructed from a specially-curated selection of nightlife field recordings from around the world.
From waves crashing onto an isolated beach at 2.00am and a deadly still night soundscape from Mongolia to a vibrant Thai night market and a late-night layover in a Saudi airport, the source material is as dynamic and full of life as the final compositions.
Join us on a journey into the nocturnal side of life – remixed and reimagined with crunching guitars, shimmering synths and no small dose of atmosphere.
